Sufi Practice of Zikr Halqa in the Quran and Hadith

In the Name of Allah Most Merciful Most Beneficent

Allahumma Swalli Ala Sayyidina Muhammadin wa Ala Aali Sayyidina Muhammadin Wa Sallim

This blogs answers bigots and skeptics with in the Muslim communities and outside of  Islam!. And we aim to educate New Muslims and those who want to understand the realities of Sufi Practice and Want to follow the Noble Paths of the Friends of God (Awliya Allah), especially as a followers of the Naqshbandi Haqqani Osmanli Tariqah (Osmanli Naksibendi Hakkani Sufi Way), I can only suggest Our Tariqah (Osmanli Naqshbandi Haqqani way) as most authentic way which fulfills all the aspects of the Quran and Sunnah and the commandments revealed therein. So if you ask me draw a chart and I found Osmanli Naksibnedi Way tick all the boxes in the list of criteria that embodies the most authenticity of Pure Islamic Way!
Misguided scholars and their sects and followers deny Zikr Congregations (Group Zikr Gatherings) and prevent others from attending Zikr Circles, they claim this practice is Shirk and Bidha!, when they are themselves filled with full of innovations and polytheism (Worship of the ego)!.
I am not beating around the bush, below are the straight references and if anyone want to accept truth and follow what is most honourable way.they may follow this Way. Finally, everyone has a choice and everyone is responsible for the choice they are making and they are liable for whatever consequences that comes with their choices.
So consider not to follow Liars, hypocrites, those who accept some and reject other things from the Book of Allah and Sunnah of Nabi Muhammad (alaihiswalathu wa salam).
“There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing. (2:256)”
To the Imitators of Jews:
Quran 2:85 After this, it is you who kill one another and drive out a party of you from their homes, assist (their enemies) against them, in sin and transgression. And if they come to you as captives, you ransom them, although their expulsion was forbidden to you. Then do you believe in a part of the Scripture and reject the rest? Then what is the recompense of those who do so among you, except disgrace in the life of this world, and on the Day of Resurrection they shall be consigned to the most grievous torment. And Allah is not unaware of what you do.
This is (accept some from scripture and reject some other commands from the scripture) what it means “to imitate Jews and Christians”.
Sahih Bukhari: Narrated Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri: The Prophet said, “You will follow the ways of those nations who were before you, span by span and cubit by cubit (i.e., inch by inch) so much so that even if they entered a hole of a mastigure, you would follow them.” We said, “O Allah’s Apostle! (Do you mean) the jews and the christians?” He said, “Whom else?” (Book 92, Hadith 422)
Some fools take this Hadith to attack Sufis, but it is the attackers who are more worthy to be blamed for that with which they attack others!.
This is explained in our blog:  see Topic: 86

Imam Malik’s Muwatta: Yahya related to me from Malik that Ziyad ibn Abi Ziyad said that Abu’d-Darda had said, “Shall I not tell you the best of your deeds, and those that give you the highest rank, and those that are the purest with your King, and are better for you than giving gold and silver, and better for you than meeting your enemy and striking their necks?” They said, “Of course.” He said, “Remembrance (Dhikr) of Allah ta ala.” (Book #15, Hadith #15.7.24)
The Importance and Power of Zikr Allah (Remembrance of Allah):
Sunan Ibn Majah (Vol 5 Darussalam Publications)
It was narrated from Abu Darda that the Prophet (alaihiswalathu wa salam) said: “Shall I not tell you of the best of your deeds, the most pleasing to your Sovereign (Allah Malik), those that raise you most in status, and that are better than giving gold and silver,or meeting your enemy (in battle) and you strike their necks and they strike your necks?”. They said: “What is that, O Messenger of Allah?
He said: “Remembering Allah (Dhikr) Hasan,Hadith Number 3790
It was narrated that Abu Hurairah and Abu Sa’eed both bore witness that the Prophet (alaihiswalathu wa salam) said: “No people sit in a gathering remembering Allah,. But the angles surround them, mercy covers them, tranquility descends upon them and Allah remembers them before those who are with Him” Sahih , Hadith Number 3791
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (R.A) that the Prophet (alaihiswalathu wa salam) said: “Allah says: ‘I am with My Slave when he remembers Me, and his lips move saying My Name” (Sahih, Hadith Number 3792)
Zikr for those who have less knowledge in Shari’ah:
Sunan Ibn Majah:It was narrated from Abdullah bin Busr(R.A) that a Bedouin said to the Messenger of Allah (salla allahu alaihi wa sallam):
“The Laws of Islam are burdensome for me. Tell me of something that I will be able to adhere to. He said: ‘Always keep your tongue moist with the remembrance of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime” (Hassan, Hadith Number 3793)
The Best Zikr:
Sunan Ibn Majah: Jabir Ibn Abdullah (r.a) said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah (alaihiswalathu wa salam) say: “The best of remembrance is “La Ilaha illa Allah (none has the right to be worshiped but Allah), and the best supplication is “Al-Hamdu Lillah (Praise is to Allah)” Hasan, Hadith Number: 3800
Loud Zikr (Remembrance of God’s Names) in Congregation (Halqa) After Obligatory prayers:
Sahih Bukhari: Narrated Abu Ma’bad: (the freed slave of Ibn ‘Abbas) Ibn ‘Abbas told me, “In the lifetime of the Prophet it was the custom to celebrate Allah’s praises aloud after the compulsory congregational prayers.” Ibn ‘Abbas further said, “When I heard the Dhikr, I would learn that the compulsory congregational prayer had ended.” (Book12, Hadith 802)
Sahih Muslim: Ibn ‘Abbas reported: Dhikr (mentioning the name of Allah) in a loud voice after obligatory prayers was (a common practice) during the lifetime of the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) ; and when I heard that I came to knew that they (the people) had finished the prayer. (Sahih Muslim Book 4, Hadith 1211)
Sahih Muslim: Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) as saying Allah has mobile (squads) of angels, who have no other work (to attend to but) to follow the assemblies of Dhikr and when they find such assemblies in which there is Dhikr (of Allah) they sit in them and some of them surround the others with their wings till the space between them and the sky of the world is fully covered, and when they disperse (after the assembly of Dhikr is adjourned) they go upward to the heaven and Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, asks them although He is best informed about them: Where have you come from? They say: We come from Thine servants upon the earth who had been glorifying Thee (reciting Subhan Allah), uttering Thine Greatness (saying Allah o-Akbar) and uttering Thine Oneness (La ilaha ill Allah) and praising Thee (uttering al-Hamdu Lillah) and begging of Thee. Be would say: What do they beg of Me? They would say: They beg of Thee the Paradise of Thine. He (God) would say: Have they seen My Paradise? They said: No, our Lord. He would say: (What it would be then) if they were to see Mine Paradise? They (the angels) said: They seek Thine protection. He (the Lord) would say: Against what do they seek protection of Mine? They (the angels) would say: Our Lord, from the Hell-Fire. He (the Lord) would say: Have they seen My Fire? They would say: No. He (the Lord) would say: What it would be if they were to see My Fire? They would say: They beg of Thee forgiveness. He would say: I grant pardon to them, and confer upon them what they ask for and grant them protection against which they seek protection. They (the angels) would again say: Our Lord, there is one amongst them such and such simple servant who happened to pass by (that assembly) and sat there along with them (who had been participating in that assembly). He (the Lord) would say: I also grant him pardon, for they are a people the seat-fellows of whom are in no way unfortunate. (Book 035, Hadith 6505)
Sahih Muslim: Abu Musa reported Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) as saying: The house in which Remembrance of Allah is made and the house in which Allah is not remembered are like the living and the dead. (Book 4, Hadith 1706)
Sahih Muslim: Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying that Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, thus stated: I am near to the thought of My servant as he thinks about Me, and I am with him as he remembers Me. And if he remembers Me in his heart, I also remember him in My Heart, and if he remembers Me in assembly I remember him in assembly, better than his (Remembrance), and if he draws near Me by the span of a palm, I draw near him by the cubit, and if he draws near Me by the cubit I draw near him by the space (covered by) two hands. And if he walks towards Me, I rush towards him. (Book 35, Hadith 6471)
Sahih MuslIm: Hanzala Usayyidi, who was amongst the scribes of Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him). reported: I met Abu Bakr. He said: Who are you? He (Hanzala) said: Hanzala has turned to be a hypocrite. He (Abu Bakr) said: Hallowed be Allah, what are you saying? Thereupon he said: I say that when we are in the company of Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) we ponder over Hell-Fire and Paradise as if we are seeing them with our very eyes and when we are away from Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) we attend to our wives, our children, our business; most of these things (pertaining to After-life) slip out of our minds. Abu Bakr said: By Allah, I also experience the same. So I and Abu Bakr went to Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) and said to him: Allah’s Messenger, Hanzala has turned to be a hypocrite. Thereupon Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: What has happened to you? I said: Allah’s Messenger, when we are in your company, we are reminded of Hell-Fire and Paradise as if we are seeing them with our own eyes, but whenever we go away from you and attend to our wives, children and business, much of these things go out of our minds. Thereupon Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: By Him in Whose Hand is my life, if your state of mind remains the same as it is in my presence and you are always busy in Remembrance (of Allah), the Angels will shake hands with you in your beds and in your paths but, Hanzala, time should be devoted (to the worldly affairs) and time (should be devoted to prayer and meditation). He (the Holy Prophet) said this thrice. (Book 37, Hadith6623)
Sahih Muslim: Ibn Mas’ud said: Since our acceptance of Islam and the revelation of this verse in which Allah has shown annoyance to us:” Has not the time yet come for the believers that their hearts should be humble for the Remembrance of Allah?” (lvii. 16), there was a gap of four years. (Book 43, Hadith 7178)
Sunan Abu Dawud: Narrated Mu’adh ibn Jabal: The Apostle of Allah (peace and blessings of Allag be upon him) said: (The reward of) prayer, fasting and Remembrance of Allah is enhanced seven hundred times over (the reward of) spending in Allah’s path. (Book 14, Hadith 2492)
Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-‘As: There are some expressions which a man utters three times when he gets up from an assembly he will be forgiven for what happened in the assembly; and no one utters them in an assembly held for a noble cause or for Remembrance of Allah but that is stamped with them just as a document is stamped with a signet-ring. These expressions are: Glory be to Thee, O Allah, and I begin with praise of Thee, there is no god but thou; I ask Thy pardon, and return to Thee in repentance. (Book 41, Hadith 4839).
Proof for Reciting Mawlid, Naat, Qawali, Nasheed, Poems, Songs that has religious/spiritual back ground:
Abdl Ar-Rahman said: The companions of the Prophet of Allah, upon him be Peace, were not overly zealous and did not kill themselves (in exaggerated acts of worship). Rather, they used to recite poetry in their gatherings and recall the days before Islam. But if anyone ever asked them to compromise on a matter of religion, the whites of their eyes would roll as if they were demented” (the Hadith is also related Ibn Abi Shaybh), Ref: Imam Bukhari’s Adab Al Mufrad (Book of Islamic Morals and Manners) Hadith 555, Al Sadaawi Publications)
The Hadith states the Sahaba used to reach a state of ecstasy in their exaggerated acts of worship and they did not harm themselves or others in such states, rather they recite poems about their life in pre-Islamic period and keep control of their zealous by remembering unfortunate days of the past!
Assalamualaikum sheikh,
other people says that sufis do perform a dance ¿ i just want to clarify if this “Dances” are of the true Sufi..? may Allah bless us.ameen

wa alaikumussalam, Bismillahi Rahmani Raheem, a hadith narrates that Ethiopians (Abyssinian) men were showing performance with spears in the Masjid of Prophet alaihiswalathu wa salam.
And Hz Ayesha R.A was lifted in the hands of Prophet (s.a.w) to see it.
Those people who accuse Sufis of Dance/spiritual performance, they are lying and misleading other people from the Islamic Spirituality.

because there is only one way is only 100% on truth and in agreement with Quran and Sunnah, that is the way of Awliya Allah (Sufi Ways)

And of course there are good and bad groups in the name of Sufism.
just as there are good and bad sects and groups in Islam, that give good or bad name to Islam!
A Wise man, intelligent man will find authentic Islamic sect and spiritual school (Sufi Tariqah) and will follow the religion of Allah Wholeheartedly and completely

Narrated Aisha (R.A): “Once, I saw the Messenger of Allah (alaihiswalathu wa salam) at the door of my house while some Ethiopians were playing in the Mosque (displaying their skills with the spears. Allah’s Messenger (Peace and blessings of Allah be Upon him) was screening me with his Rida so as to enable me to see their display” (Sahih Bukhari Ch:69 Hadith 454)
In Islam, a matter is decided by Quran,Sunnah, Hadith, Ijmah and Qiyas , not just by direct and exact proofs from Quran or Hadith. In such cases, the salafi scholars who wear western suites and neck ties are following the ways of unbelievers. As Islam clearly suggest the dress codes in Kitaab Libaas (Book on clothings) and right course is clear from false ways!. Saalfis ,who accept some of the deen (Prayer, fasting etc) and reject many sunnah of Prophet alaihiswalathu wa salam and companions, wake up and follow Ahlu Tariqah.

“My Nation will be split into seventy three sects, all of them are in hell Fire except one”

73 Sects- Find and Follow The Saved Sect:
Anas Ibn Malik (r.a) said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) say: “My Nation Will not unite on misguidance, so if you see them differing, follow the great majority”
Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith Vol5,Number 3950, Darussalam Publications, Saudi-Salafi Publications)
Are you abusing and slandering those who do Qawwali and Zikr Halqa?
This Quran verse is about Jahils:
Quran Chapter Asr 103 Verses: By time,Indeed Indeed, mankind is in loss, Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience.mankind is in loss,
[Every Assembly should Praise Allah and Salute the Prophet Muhammad alaihiswalathu wa salam, all other Assemblies are cursed if it does not Praise Allah the Mighty and Sublime, this has been narrated in another Hadith, which says: If anyone attend an association which does not remember Allah and does not salute Prophet Muhammad alaihiswalathu wa salam, he will regret on the Day of Judgement]
So now come to the understanding of the original salaf saalih, not Youtube and Satellite TV Salafs!
Wa salamun alal Mursaleen
